About the activity
NB: We’re bringing together all the TfL education programmes, including STARS, under one exciting new umbrella programme called TfL Travel for Life. They will be the same great programmes but with a new name and a new look, easier online process and dedicated support team. STARS for primary schools will be renamed TfL Explorers. STARS for secondary schools will be renamed TfL Pioneers.
We are launching an exciting partnership with Micro Scooters!
We are delighted to launch our exciting competition with our Partners, Micro Scooters. Your school will have the chance to win scooters and accessories, helping to encourage scooting as part of your pupils’ active travel.
We know that your schools are creative places, and your pupils will enjoy our new Active Travel activity cards in partnership with Micro Scooters.
There will be one winning school and one runner up school selected across each of the London regions in the North, South, East, and West.
Winning Schools will receive:
- 6 x Scooters to be used in a “pool” that children can use to encourage active travel to school
- Micro Scooter branded Water Bottles/safety kit
- 1 x Scoot Safe fun scooter sessions
- Exclusive Micro Scooter discount code for parents
Runner Up Schools will receive
- 1 x Scoot Safe fun scooter sessions
- Exclusive Micro Scooter discount code for parents
Competition opens: 12th September 2023
Competition closes: 30th October 2023
Winners will be contacted by week beginning 20th November 2023
Entry Requirements:
- If you aren’t registered yet, please register here.
- Encourage your pupils to create an entry to tell a story of how “Scooters save the day”.
- Upload all pupil entries as evidence when uploading your Micro Scooters Activity Card story. Please ask your pupils to use one of the formats below to to tell their stories:
- A power point presentation
- A x 2 page A4 Story
- A Storyboard
Activity steps
Step 1
Start planning - Find a good time to promote the activity for each class/group of pupils.
Step 2
Explore the templates and resources - Explore the 'Resources' section for template activity sheets to support pupils with their entries.
Step 3
Encourage your pupils to engage in the competition - Pupils can plan and identify their story structure and preferred template.
Step 4
Upload all story entried submitted - Attach all pupil entries as 'evidence' when you upload your Micro Scooter story.
