About the activity

NB: We’re bringing together all the TfL education programmes, including STARS, under one exciting new umbrella programme called TfL Travel for Life. They will be the same great programmes but with a new name and a new look, easier online process and dedicated support team. STARS for primary schools will be renamed TfL Explorers. STARS for secondary schools will be renamed TfL Pioneers

A School Street is a road outside a school with a temporary restriction on motorised traffic at school drop-off and pick-up times. The restriction applies to school traffic and through traffic. The result is a safer, healthier and pleasant environment for everyone.  School Street schemes offer a proactive solution for school communities to tackle air pollution, poor health and in supporting road danger reduction.  A School Street scheme will encourage a healthier lifestyle and active travel to school for families and lead to a better environment for everyone.

Did you know that if your school has set up or is setting up a School Street, you can complete a range of TfL Travel for Life Activity Cards that align with the initiative? If you have undertaken supporting activites as part of preparing for a School Street, you can evidence this here.
