How did Pioneers turn Lammas pupils into podcasters?

When Lammas School in Leyton were offered the opportunity to take part in the TfL Pioneers Challenge, they jumped at the chance!
This free programme is designed to reduce car usage and to equip young people aged 11 to 18 with the skills and confidence to lead their peers and influence parents in tackling travel issues in their school community.
After recruiting a super keen team of year 8 ambassadors, there was no stopping them. From collecting Hands Up Surveys, to delivering presentations at school assemblies, to leading a road safety obstacle course, the pupils demonstrated incredible leadership skills, as well as doing their bit to make London streets greener and safer.
Hannah from TfL Pioneers supported them every step of the way, even helping the ambassadors to host their own podcast. From quizzes to interviews to discussions – no doubt it’s going to be a fascinating listen!
Mr Barratt from Lammas was full of praise for Hannah – “the children really look forward to her sessions. There’s never a moment where they look bored. She speaks to them at their level”.
