About the activity

Great news! This activity card is worth three stories towards your accreditation.

Bikeability is a cycle training programme designed to give pupils the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on the road. The training is delivered by all 33 London boroughs and is available for free to schools across the Capital.

There are three levels of Bikeability training:

  1. Control and master your bike in an off-road environment
  2. Cycle on-road and deal with traffic on short journeys
  3. Tackle a wider variety of more challenging road and traffic conditions (suitable for competent cyclists of secondary-school age)

Contact your borough for more information and to book training for your school.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools can adapt Bikeability training to their pupils' needs.

This activity requires three pieces of evidence. Don’t worry, it’s easy to upload all the evidence in one document - just copy and paste your evidence into this document

Activity steps

Step 1

Hands up for cycling to school. Survey your pupils to find out how many cycle to school

Step 4

Safety first. Make sure you have permission for each individual to be involved and have completed any risk assessments

Step 5

Get biking! Hold your Bikeability training and then Survey your pupils again to see how many are now cycling to school

Step 6

Tell your story! Upload your evidence to "my activities"
