About the activity

Many young people are anxious about climate issues and feel powerless to take action. Others may be indifferent or doubt the seriousness of the issue. Use this lively discussion session to turn worriers into warriors and to get a broader perspective on the sociological and psychological issues.  

How to evidence your activity  

Upload a screenshot of email sent to Form tutors scheduling the session and/or any feedback emails from teachers following the session. 

Activity steps

Step 1

Get planning. Check your termly schedule for Form Time, Citizenship/PSHE or Reading time and agree a suitable time to schedule the discussion session

Step 2

Familiarise yourself with the PowerPoint and teachers notes beneath the slides. Print out the accompanying worksheet and distribute a one copy of the 3-page resource per class

Step 3

Shout about it! Promote the session in staff briefing or an assembly

Step 4

Share feedback – encourage Form tutors to share any top tips from their class discussions. Was there any consensus on the world students would like to create? Share to the wider community via your newsletter, podcast or website
