How it helps

  • Encourages walking as a daily activity
  • Promotes positive travel behaviours

About the activity

This is your chance to share your school’s own original walking activity, different to anything else already listed on the TfL Travel for Life site.

Did your staff organise a sponsored walk-to-school-with-a-hat-on day? Do your pupils bake road safety-themed biscuits as a reward for those who walk to school?

Tell your story now!

Activity steps

Step 1

What's the problem? Which travel issue or behaviour are you trying to resolve or change? Discuss your ideas with your head teacher and borough officer

Step 2

Work together. Set up a team or work with your school travel working group, or your colleagues to develop and plan your scooting activity

Step 3

Spread the word. Make sure you promote your activity to have the biggest impact possible! Take photos and write an article to include in the school’s newsletter or on the website

Step 4

Check for success. Set up a team or work with your school travel working group or your colleagues to develop and plan your walking activity

Step 5

Tell your story. Upload your evidence to "my activities"
