How it helps

  • A great leadership opportunity for students
  • Increases all student’s awareness of sustainability issues
  • Allows for positive peer influencing to encourage more sustainable behaviours

About the activity

Activities, clubs and groups led by pupils can offer fantastic enrichment experiences for young people, and can also be ideal for students who have not had an opportunity to shine in other areas of their school life.

Your school may already have one of these groups, and you can include active travel in their agendas

  • School Council,
  • Eco-team,
  • Green Team or Society

You can also set up a TfL Travel for Life group and apply for free badges. Try TfL Explorers Ambassadors for KS2 and

TfL Pioneers Ambassador for Y7 and up. The activities provide ways to increase their confidence and gain experience of presenting as part of a small supportive group of their peers. They see the impact of their work in action in their community, and get to know pupils in other forms and year groups
